During the reign of the Yellow Emperor 4,500 years ago, Ts'ang Chieh, Ju Song and the group collected the pictographs from various part of the country. They reorganized these pictographs, selected those that were suitable to become written language and expanded the vocabulary. Thus, the oldest Chinese written language "Shuqi" was formed.
Shuqi was the term used in ancient times. The first word "Shu" refers to the system of writing, whilst the second word "qi" denotes the form to be of an inscribed nature. Shuqi was the ancient written language used by the Chinese.
