Chinese New Year Celebration, 2004
We celebrated Chinese New Year with the Offering to the Buddha Ceremony and a pot luck lunch. The members sincerely offered incense and food to the Buddha. Incense symbolizes giving of ourselves to benefit others. We performed this special ceremony at the beginning of the New Year to remind ourselves of the Buddha's teaching of compassion and to extend our love to everyone. We enjoyed the food very much and were grateful for the thoughtfulness of the others. |
